William Lewis brings an unmatched blend of strings as OPOV Band’s Guitarist. William’s quiet and humble spirit is far from the loud cry he makes on his guitar. He’s a 3 year member of OPOV Band. He believes he was predestined to be a musician as his grandfather was a guitarist and his father, an exceptional blues guitarist. William is certainly following in his father’s footsteps. He received his first guitar when he was only 3 years old and was soon playing on stage with his father at the age of 9. Williams’s compassionate love for music is easy to notice, along with his silly humor. In the blues genre, William credits his inspiration for music to the late “great” B.B. King, Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. In the R&B arena, William vibes with Earnie Isley, Jazz greats, George Benson and Norman Brown. Last but not least, the late Country music legend, Roy Clark. William has collaborated with and been a part of opening acts for national artists such as Al Green, The Clark Sisters and Shirley Ceasar, just to name a few. William has written, co. written, composed and recorded songs for various local gospel artists as well. Opposite music, William enjoys shooting pool, basketball and especially vacationing when time permits.
William stated that, “being a part of OPOV Band makes performing fun, alongside a great group of people who work hard at their crafts to provide the best service for our clients. Seeing our clients happy and knowing they received much more than what they paid for, whether it’s a wedding or small local pubs, is its own reward!” In the near future, William wants to record original music with OPOV Band and globally travel with the band, creating and displaying the love for music for a living.
